I am excited to be starting the 4th Quarter with you! Our class may look a little different than what we are used to, but we will navigate our way through this change together. Here is some information you may find helpful.
When we have live instructional sessions or small group meetings, they will be on Tuesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 with a specific time for each class as follows:
Period 1: 1:30-1:50
Period 2: 1:55-2:15
Period 4: 2:20-2:40
Period 6: 2:45-3:05
Period 7: 3:10-3:30
It is going to be very important that you check your PCPS GMail account and our Google Classroom at least once a day as these will be the primary ways that I will communicate with you during the 4th quarter.
If you are not sure how to join or use Google Classroom or just need a quick refresher, please take a moment to watch this short video. How to Sign-in to Google Classroom and Access Materials
I will have office hours all quarter where I will be available to help you or answer any questions you may have. My office hours are Monday - Friday from 9:30-11:30
If you need additional support, I am always available through email or Remind.
Please don’t hesitate to contact me if you have questions!
Even though the remainder of the school year will look unusual, this is really your time to show how strong and independent you are. I trust that you will do your best, not because you HAVE to, but because you WANT to.
I’m excited and ready for us to work together as we finish the 2019/2020 school year in an amazing way!

Mr. Jonathan Jones
Welcome to 6th Grade Science at Poquoson Middle School. Science is everywhere, and we will explore and discover how life works through various disciplines of Science. This will include concepts as large as the solar system, as small as atoms, and others that fall between the two. We will also examine how to take care of our physical world. All of this will be done with a scientific mind: questioning what is, investigating how it works, analyzing, and evaluating to understand it better, and developing new concepts to make ourselves and the world better.
