Poquoson Education Foundation Awards Classroom Grants
The Poquoson Education Foundation recently awarded twenty-five classroom grants to PCPS schools. The "Prize Patrol" visited each of Poquoson's schools to surprise the winners. Grants were awarded for US Constitution Quest activity for history students, risers for PHS choral department, flexible seating options, supplies for a family activity during Festival of the Arts at PES, 3D GlowForge printer, and so much more. Funds are raised through events such as the “Run for the Bulls” 5K Run/2-Mile Walk sponsored with the Poquoson Kiwanis Club in the fall and PEF Top Golf event in the spring. Additionally the on-going Legacy Walk Brick Sales, sponsorships and donations also support the foundation. Since 2010, grants totaling over $240,000 have been awarded.
The Poquoson Education Foundation’s mission is to support Poquoson’s schools, students and teachers by providing financial support through its grant and scholarship programs. Donations to PEF that support these grants may be mailed to Poquoson Education Foundation, PO Box 2425, Poquoson, VA 23662. Donations may also be made online by going to www.pefva.org. The support and generosity of the community, businesses and organizations are appreciated. Our school supporters are investing in the excellence of Poquoson City Public Schools!
